Jane is sharing her love for the outdoors with others as an Outward Bound instructor in Western North Carolina.

Jane graduated with honors from UNC Chapel Hill in May 2024. She earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Journalism and Religious Studies. Over four years at the Hussman School, Jane encountered the immense power of storytelling and embraced her love for writing long-form feature stories. Her work has been published in student-run publications, such as the Daily Tar Heel and Coulture Magazine.

As a preacher’s kid and avid Sunday School attendee, she was thrown off by her first Religious Studies course. Studying the Bible from a scholarly standpoint allowed her to make sense of the world around her and inspired her to take as many religious studies courses as she could fit into her schedule before graduation. She is most interested in, and has extensively researched, the intersection between contemporary Christianity and nature.
